Life Resolutions: The Fail List

As I mentioned in my recent post about running a half marathon, I decided that this would be the year I make good on my past Life Resolution failures. Although I’ve achieved most of the goals I’ve set for myself over the past six years of Life Resolutions, there have been a few failed efforts (or no efforts at all, in some cases).

So I’m not setting any new Life Resolutions for 2012 and instead, I’m just going to cross off some of those nagging failures.  I’m not really out to prove anything — I just hate lists that aren’t fully crossed off. It’s an over-achiever thing.

But if I do end up proving something, I hope it’s this: sometimes our greatest successes are on the heels of failure. Never give up.

Domestica’s Life Resolutions 2012 : Second Chances

1. Run a half-marathon (2011)
2. Publish a book (2011)
3. Acknowledge the birthdays of my extended family and close friends (2010)
4. Learn basic conversational German (2010)
5. Learn how to sew (2009)
6. Open an online store (2009)

I don’t know how many of these I’ll be able to accomplish by the end of 2012 but it definitely gives me something to strive for.  Now…anyone have any good ideas on what the heck I could sell in a virtual store? What on earth was I thinking with that one!

What New Year Resolution have you given up on? Time to dust it off, perhaps?

Natasha Kay
